Her career started early when at age 12 she did her mother’s makeup before going out. Then she developed a long and productive career in Colombia and over 15 years where she worked all the time with Informa Models and toured with them in Medellin and Bogota with shows from Oscar de la Renta to Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. She has also worked on makeup sets for Avon catalogs, Exito, Leonisa and others.
In 1998 she traveled to Spain to study FX Makeup at a film and television makeup school “Cascarra” (Barcelona) where she learned to simulate cuts, scars, bald, burns, wigs, masks and aging.
Today she is the ambassador of L’Oreal Paris makeup line, and Creative Consultant for Motives Cosmetics. She is editor of Venue Magazine and is regularly invited to give tips of how to learn to do proper makeup in TV shows like Despierta America, Univision and AOL’s internet channel. She also recorded beauty capsules with DISCOVERY and is continuously involved in productions for the covers of magazines like Vanidades, People en Español, Hola! and Ocean Drive.
Claudia Betancur’s work has spread to various parts of the world and in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Australia through marketing a DVD where she teaches her makeup techniques.
Her passion about travel leads her to constantly visit different areas of the world, attending conferences and seminars with the Market America team with which she has had the opportunity to present her experience in the world of makeup before an audience of more than 20,000 people of various nationalities.
She has done makeup for hundreds of personalities from entertainment and sports, some of them are: Jennifer Lopez, Thalía, Eva Longoria, Kim Kardashian, Robi Draco Rosa, Alejandro Sanz, Dulce Maria, Juanes, Karent Martinez, Khloe Kardashian, Laura Pausini, Jenesis Rodriguez and many more.
Her mentor is Loren Ridinger, owner of Market America, who has guided her through the fashion world and Hollywood spectacle.
